The Leapians Lighting Candles For Peace

The world truly seemed small when the Leapians, in their chosen national costumes, represented the different countries of the world in the Parade of Nations of the 2011 United Nations Day held last October 28, 2011.

With news of violence and strife plaguing the Philippines and the rest of the world today, the call for peace by the people of the different nations has become even more pressing. It is only but proper that we celebrate and give importance to the unifying purpose of the United Nations international organization, as well as remind the people about this. The best way to start is by nurturing, guiding, and educating our children, who we know are our future.

The Leap of Faith Learning Center is one with everyone else in your plea for love and harmony to reign, herein and abroad. For this reason, the school’s celebration of this year’s United Nations Day has been made even more special, with the active participation not only by the Leapians, but their teachers as well. For the first time, the teachers likewise dressed as envoys of the countries they wished to represent, and left us to reflect on the question: “When Will The War Be Ended?”, as sung by Teacher Roxan and Teacher Tina.

The occasion would not be complete without acknowledging the Leapians, and their parents, who gave so much effort in dressing up and preparing for the United Nations Day. This year’s awards went to the following students:

Pre-School
Best In Costume 2011        -  Bailaly Roup (United Kingdom), Level I
Favorite Tour Guide 2011  - Amanda Sevrina Puentespina (Angola), Level II

Grade School
Best In Costume 2011        -  Jaen Rafael Toyoda (Japan), Grade 1
Favorite Tour Guide 2011  -  Ma. Arabella Ibanez (Mexico), Grade 5

The Leap of Faith Learning Center also acknowledges the most active participation of Mr. and Mrs. Toyoda as well as Mrs. Singh, who proudly attended the United Nations Day wearing the national costumes of their countries, Japan and India, respectively.

Once again, the Leap of Faith Learning Center wishes everyone lasting peace, love, and joy. For this, the Leapians encourage everyone to “Light A Candle For Peace”.
