I am a Leapian. I am a Filipino.

To the left is a photo of a couple of Toddlers shortly after a hearty head-bobbing hip-swaying feet-stomping medley dance during the Buwan ng Wika commemoration held last August 25, 2011. You can only imagine what went on the stage back then! Qodie and Gabriela were only two of the Leapians present that day, who happily and proudly celebrated their being Filipinos.
The Buwan ng Wika is an annual festivity at the Leap of Faith Learning Center, as with the other schools. It is a month-long remembrance of our rich Philippine history and culture, certainly like no other in the world. The celebration is also a tribute to our forefathers and national heroes, who stood their ground in forming that history as well as the Philippines that we now have and enjoy. Finally, the occasion calls the Leapians together to share this wonderful experience of reliving the Filipino customs and traditions, which a true Filipino still holds dear in his heart, even with the prevalence of modern practices today.

In this year’s Buwan ng Wika program, the Leapians showcased the different customary Philippine songs and dances as well as the then popular Philippine balagtasan, not to mention the different styles of the traditional Filipino garb and national costume. Of course, the program could not have ended without the traditional salu-salo of yummy Philippine dishes and delicacies, shared by the Leapians along with their parents, teachers, and the LOFLC staff and administration.

While it is the Leap of Faith Learning Center’s vision, mission, and goal to mold the Leapians into globally competent persons, let it not be overlooked that the school seeks to accomplish this with the Filipino heart, values, and principles in mind.
