What is significant
about the date, and what could be so special about this person whose presence made
such a special occasion even more special, you may ask?
Well, March 23, 2012
marked the day in which the Leapians’ hard work during the past school year was
recognized and rewarded, not only with awards but most especially with a
promotion to the next grade level. The said Moving Up, Recognition, and
Graduation Ceremonies were special indeed, as they marked an important end of a
chapter in the lives of our dear Leapians, and the beginning of a new phase directed towards their progress.
The Leap of
Faith Learning Center shares the joy and pride of the parents and guardians who
have also witnessed the fruits of their labors and sacrifices in this recent accomplishment
of their children. We are likewise proud of you, dear parents and guardians,
for being our active partners in ensuring the growth and development of the
children. To the teachers, thank you and job well done! Of course, we cannot
end the school year without congratulating the academic and non-academic
awardees, as well as the movers and the graduates. May you keep up the good
work and strive to do better. Finally, we are most happy and proud to present and
award Cheroll Kie M. Royo of Level III, the Valedictorian for the School Year 2011 to 2012. May your diligence and hard work remain to be an inspiration to
your classmates and schoolmates.
As
mentioned, the event was made more meaningful for everyone, as it was attended
and shared with us by our very own Davao City Councilor for the First District,
Hon. Maria Belen "Mabel" Sunga Acosta, who without second thoughts graciously accepted our
invitation to be our Guest Speaker. An educator herself, and as
the present Chairperson of the Board of Advisers of Bantay Bata 163 Davao, as
well as the Chairperson of the Committee on Education, Science and Technology,
Arts and Culture during her term in the 13th, 14th, and
15th Davao City Councils, she is one person who truly understands
the value of quality education, especially for children. Because of her professional
experience and active social involvements, connecting with the Leapians and
their parents, reminding them of their duties and responsibilities as children,
students, and parents, respectively, was just a breeze for her.
So, most certainly,
the Moving Up, Recognition, and Graduation Ceremonies of March 23, 2012 were made even more
meaningful by the presence of this admirable lady Councilor, whose exceptional
character, skills, education, training, and continuing commitment to public
service, have inspired and touched the lives of many people.
